Just like last year, I will attend this year's installment of the PHP Unconference in Hamburg, Germany on April 26 and 27 2008.
This is a great opportunity to get up to speed on the current developments in PHP and to meet members of the "PHP Internals" community as well as developers of PHP software projects such as phpMyFAQ, for instance. Last year's event also saw a strong presence of MySQL developers and I do not expect this to be different this time around.
Last night I returned from two interesting and fun days in Hamburg, Germany where I attended the PHP Unconference.
Below are the slides from my first "untalk" ("Testen von PHP/Web-Anwendungen mit PHPUnit 3 und Selenium"). I also gave an "untalk" on the eZ Components Workflow Engine for which I did not use any slides.
I arrived on Friday in time for the first presentation. Ulf Wendel fetched me at the train station and after storing my luggage at his place we went to the Lehmanns Fachbuchhandlung, the venue for the first presentation. Afterwards, at around 11:00 PM, Ulf, Hinrich Sager, Ekkehard Dörre and I went to a nearby pub to grab something to eat.
Saturday started with a trip to the harbour ("Hamburger Hafen") and the old warehouse district ("Speicherstadt") where the celebration of the harbour's 816th birthday ("Hafengeburtstag") was underway. I spent the afternoon with Ulf, Hinrich and his two daughters in Hamburg's famous zoo, the Tierpark Hagenbeck.
After my second presentation we had dinner at an Indian restaurant. It was my first experience with Indian cuisine and I really liked it.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the PHP Usergroup of Hamburg, especially Hinrich Sager, and Dirk Eckel of Lehmanns' for inviting me to Hamburg. I would also like to thank Ulf Wendel and his girlfriend Steffi for their hospitality.
